Yes, go ahead and laugh, I bought another bread book. HOWEVER, I used my bonus points at the cookbook club, AND closed my account, so there.

I have to say one thing, though - every single recipe of this book makes me want to grab some levain and go at it.
Every single one.

Made my first bread from it today, "Quintessential French Sourdough" - divided the dough in two, baked half today as a small "batard" and the rest was shaped as a "boule" and will be baked tomorrow. I was going to take pictures but forgot until half the loaf was gone.

I think I am in love.....

anybody else has baked from it? Any favorites?

Local Breads is in the mail, with my name on it. I bought a copy for a friend last year and figured I was still lusting after it, so finally got a copy for myself. Can't wait til I have it in my hands.

Oh, you will love them both! I've made several of Hamelman's breads, his sourdough is my default weekend bread.

I love this book--this and Hammelmann and BBA are my favorites.


BTW, are you still doing the BBA challenge?  I've got poolish waiting for the ciabatta now...

Yeap - I am a little ahead, actually, but have held back on posting, to keep the pace with everyone else

My last post was on ciabatta, bread #7

but I already made cinnamon rolls and the Cinnamon Raisin Loaf (today) - I will probably blog about the rolls mid week
