Hey, don't be a stranger!! We have a number of threads going in the baking section, and I just posted about making your lucious cornbread for our Super Bowl Party. I was in your whole grain class before Christmas and our son SO enjoyed the American Pie class 2 weeks ago.
You are a GREAT teacher and you have many admirers here!!

Hi Gretchen,
Well, I tried to log in under my PeterReinhart screen name but it defaulted me to my former login, Wheatberry. Thanks for your message and kind words. On Tuesday we begin a week a Q&A, so spread the word. I'll try to figure out this login business by then and get things rolling. Till then, continued happy baking!

Count me as one of your admirers. I took a class from you in Dallas, and you were so great about answering questions, even via email afterwards. We're living in NC now, so might have to make it over to Charlotte one day.

Actually, that "test" post was just me making sure we have Peter set up properly for his Ask-the-Expert forum, which kicks off tomorrow. Be sure to check it out when it's live!

Ah, is that what that pretty little red "e" is for? Expert? (G) Very snappy...
Statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception.

It's far better than the so-called staff, which I insist is a gavel or mallet. <g>

Oh, great. What an opportunity.

That's wonderful. I'll be there. :)

Hey, thanks MadMom--let me know when you're in Charlotte.

I wish! I'm thinking I might have to overnight it, since so many of the classes seem to be in the evenings, and I live two hours away. Maybe I can find a Saturday class during the day, although Gretchen says they fill up before you know it!

No, the classes are usually 9-1 on Saturdays, although there are some now to prepare the soaker/mash on Friday night to complete on Saturday for chef's bread classes.

My bad...then I could probably make the classes, if someone else would show up Friday nights for me!

Depending on when, etc. you could bunk here--by then!! Still clearing out from floor refinishing upstairs.
