Now living in Georgia (post #57244)
MEANCHEF on Wed, 12/05/2007 - 03:21
Got out of Seattle a day early because of potential snow. Good hing because the next day it did snow enough to cause havoc.
I am now happy as a pig in $hit. This is the woman I should have been with. I am sad that it has taken almost 50 years to be together, but I guess this is the way it was meant to be.
We live in a little 3 bedroom house that looks to me like it belongs in Architecticual Digest. Jerseygirl has amazing skills.
So far we have spent our days shopping - Trader Joes, whole Foods etc etc. Great store choices here.
Otherwise I am having a hard time feeling like I live here as apposed to just visiting. It will take time for me to feel like any of this is mine too.
I am soo much in love that it is scary.

I am really so happy for you and hope you soon feel "at home". You didn't mention one very important thing (next to being with a very special, important person)...how's the kitchen?

Better late than never! I'm really happy for both of you. Have fun!

WELL, the LEAST you could have done is brought ALL that rain that fell on Seattle with you!! You would be king of Georgia!!
I am really really happy for what you are expressing. And I think/know it is being returned.
Will you remain "Mean"? Think about it.
Details. I want details.
How did you reconnect? Accidently, on purpose, who sought out whom? What happened to the SOs/ spouses? Are the kids okay with it?
The best part is the happy ending. Best to both of you!!! I must confess, after all years of your wicked sense of humor it is a little unnerving to think of you drooling in love and sugary sweet, LOL.

MEANCHEF, is that *you?*
The South is making you soft.

Oh my. This is a very big change. I know my leaving Portland last year was painful. So much to miss in that part of the country, and Seattle is even more wonderful than Portland. But I love being back in the south, and I hope you grow to love it. You have a strong and delightful inducement, and I am happy for you. I think you will enjoy the Georgia winter and early spring.

I offer you my congratulations.

I'm so happy for you, you old poop.
be nice to JerseyGirl, or I'll pinch your head off.

Sniff, sniff. I love a good love story, and am very happy to hear a cantankerous old crank is so in love. Won't this be an awesome holiday season?? Not to mention, an awesome 2008.
I know the South is new to you, but I hope it grows on you, lol. Think of it as a long honeymoon. You and JerseyGirl are in store for lots of new adventures, blessings to you both.
Well, my goodness, you do sound different.
Enjoy this time with JerseyGirl to the fullest. You are right, that for whatever reason, things were meant to be this way. Please don't regret the past, but enjoy the present.

Sigh.....
But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!

And you thought being "from" Jersey was the best thing about it!

This is all JUST the cutest and sweetest and dearest thing. I'm so happy for both of you.
But just in case you need to rediscover your inner curmudgeon, here is a Georgia Bulldog for you. As you probably know, his name is Uga.
Stay happy!

With posts like that, you're going to have to change your name to HAPPYCHEF! So glad to hear that things are going well.
Edited to say, I like Karen's MUSHYCHEF better. Much more apt.
