Recipe Software

Any Recipezaar Premium Members out there? Is it worth it? Can it be used like recipe software?

I think that's enough questions - but feel free to elaborate to your heart's content in either direction - good or bad. Want to make an informed decision.

Not at all like recipe software. Mastercook is a better option for recipe management.

Didn't Mastercook go the way of the typewriter? I thought it was discontinued or obsolete...?

the premium membership at Recipezaar lets you do lots of different things that normal members can't. There's a menu planning feature, you can create your own cookbooks (using recipes posted on the Zaar), you can post notes on recipes you've tried, much as you'd write something in the margins of your cookbook. Then you get the glitzy stuff like the ability to have an icon beside your name, etc. I know that there's more you can do, and I basically do none of it. I am also probably the least informed member of Zaar.

I do have Premium Membership. It came with the request to host the Greek Forum.

Evelyn - is putting in comments on the recipes of others one of the functions of the premium membership? I could not for the life of me find a button to do that.

do you mean reviewing a recipe? No, you don't need to be a premium member to do that. When you click on a recipe and it opens up for you in your browser window, on the top right hand side (or underneath the picture, if there is one) is a bubble that says 'My Rating' and had 5 white stars underneath it. First you click on the star-rating you want to give the recipe and that will bring up another bubble that says 'Comments'. You can type your comments in that box. Then just hit the 'Submit Review' button to submit it. The review should be published in a couple of days and it will show from then on in the recipe. You can always go back and edit a review by resubmitting a new one. The new one will automatically replace your old review. :-)
