Recipe Software

Any suggestions for home recipe management software? I just purchased Home Cookin' but don't find it as easy to navigate as I was lead to believe, especially for entering my own shopping lists. I'd like to be able to simply enter in all the loose and frequently used recipes I've accumulated over the years with out a lot of fuss.

I have MasterCook and I really like it a lot. Mine is outdated now (6.0) so I want the newer version. From what I hear, it has a lot of new features. Maybe you can download a trial version? I think that's how I got started. If you find something you love, let me know since I am in the market to update, myself.

Is matercook easy to use, I'm very computer dumb but its getting frustrating with recipes all over the place. Even the binder I bought does not work for me, its driving hubby crazy.

Mastercook is a great program. there are differant versions, I bought 2 - the old betty crocker and the newer version 10 - I installed the old one then upgraded to the new one to keep the BC recipes. It has functions that enable you to create a cookbook of your own, add recipes and lots more - it is pretty easy to use right out of the box, but it does pay to read the manual to at least get an idea of what options and functions it does have for future playing around.

I agree with you - it is easy to use and if you read the manual you can get so much out of it. You don't have to have much computer experience to get the full benefit from it either.

I like Living Cookbook, however I have never used Mastercook.

I have used both and personally prefer mastercook.

Living cookbook is my 2nd choice.
