I discovered last week that I hadn't fully read my copy of the last FC issue (goes to show you how hectic life has been).  And I was inspired to grill some bread.  I made the Naan recipe.  I was a bit shocked at first as to how much flour it needed but decided to try it anyway!  Well, it was a huge hit.  I absolutely loved it!! it was so easy to make and so impressive to serve.

DH was all over it (with slight variations for the finicky eater).

I think the best part was that I still got to make bread but didn't need to heat up the house.

Didn't even have time to take any pictures before they were all gone!

Perhaps I'll make some pita next time.

Naan (post #70276, reply #1 of 6)

Hi!  I liked the naan too-- I made some without the filling and those were really tasty.  That whole flatbread article is good--try the recipe with chickpeas next time-- it is really good too.

Filling (post #70276, reply #2 of 6)

I forgot to say that I didn't make the filling as per the recipe.  I had made another batch of pesto and was worried it was getting a bit brown (as I don't like to add the layer of oil on top).  so, I added pesto and goat cheese as the filling.

Which was was the one with chickpeas? I can't remember.  I'll look it up.  I loved how easy it came together and they were so light and fluffy!

Pesto! (post #70276, reply #3 of 6)

Mmm, I bet the pesto was great!  I used goat cheese in mine too.  This is the chickpea flatbread recipe:

I do remember that one too.  Maybe next weekend.  Heading to the cottage Friday, WOOHOO!! but so much to pack, plan etc...

Came home to discover that the people who installed my new front load washer last week disconnected my deep freezer!!! ARGHHH All my home baking and meat gone!!!  I sure hope they re-imburse me

On no! (post #70276, reply #5 of 6)

That is terrible about the freezer-- yes, you should be reimbursed, those stinkers-- what, did they just unplug it?  That is awful.

I want $$$ (post #70276, reply #6 of 6)

Both the washing machine and the deep freezer were on the same power bar.  I don't know why but they unplugged the entire thing.

Thankfully we purchased the machine, delivery and installation through Sears.  I have made a long list and taken photos of the entire contents and have faxed that into them for re-imbursement.  The trouble is I have no idea how much to claim for this stuff...I guess I'll have to take a look at what the current prices are and make a request.

The sales person I have been dealing with has been exceptional so I am hoping to get full compensation.
