I don't know if I would like lemon and caramel together, but I am intrigued.

Lemon Caramel Icebox Cake (post #39597, reply #1 of 3)

Hi - I know you posted this eons ago, and not sure if you ever made it . . . but this recipe was originated by Heather Ho, a pastry chef who was working at Windows on the World at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and sadly passed away.  But it was my wedding cake (on August 19, only about 3 weeks before the terrorist attacks).  Such a yummy yummy yummy cake!  If you didn't try it then, try it now!

Here's a pic from my wedding (although it's in B&W and the photos of my cake were unfortunately a little overexposed).  But you get the idea!

Hi peachmarie,

Wow, what a memory-- looks like a great cake too. I got married on the 11th of the same year. Happy anniversary-- do you ever make this cake yourself?

Cheers, Jen

Cake (post #39597, reply #3 of 3)

Hi Jen -

I only found the recipe last year while trying to find a restaurant (looking at online menus) that maybe now makes it.  I was hoping to surprise my husband for our 10th anniversary.  I never did find it on a menu, so instead of eating it out, this year I'm going to bake it for him :)

hope you try it!  It's wonderful!
