Fine Cooking website - printing recipes

Not sure where to go for comments/suggestions regarding the FC website (as opposed to magazine), so I'm going to start here...

This has been bothering me for a while: there really needs to be an option to print a recipe with image. The photo of the item is a very important element of a recipe for me; it helps with both identifying the recipe easily and with seeing how the item should turn out. That may not be true for everyone, which is why many recipe sites have a print option to include the photo or not - but I imagine I'm not the only one who would like this (and with today's technology, printing out a small image reallly isn't a big deal). As it is, rather than use your print function I cut and paste into a Word document so I can have the image in my print-out.

In fact, it wouldn't be bad to have more print options in general - see, e.g., www.food.com, which allows you to choose whether to include the photo, the nutritional info, the reviews, the "about this recipe" paragraph, etc. But at the very least, I would like to be able to print out your recipes with the photos - that's vital for me.

If there's some other forum to which I should be posting (or emailing) this comment, I'd be happy to do so.

Thanks!

I understand this (post #70736, reply #1 of 4)

I understand this frustration. When the Web site first launched a couple of years ago, feedback from readers was that they didn’t want images to print with their recipes because it seemed to waste too much ink, but your suggestions here are good ones (thank you!), and we’re listening.

Thanks again,

-Robyn

Options maybe? (post #70736, reply #2 of 4)

Hey Robyn,

I have seen a couple of websites that give you an option as to whether or not you want the photo printed with the recipe...maybe this is something that can be done?

Options are good! (post #70736, reply #3 of 4)

I'm in favor of options. I'll bring it to the table the next time the team meets about major site changes (major, in the sense that it would take a developer's time, not something producers can change).

Thanks for adding your voice to the mix,

Robyn
