New issue... (post #69901, reply #1 of 6)
What are you going to make first? I'm excited about the greens recipes, as we get loads of greens in the first few weeks of our CSA box. Plus the cherry recipes sound excellent. Hey, if you make something and take photos, you could post it in the Cook the Issue challenge, over in the gallery:
http://www.finecooking.com/contest/cook-the-issue-2010
ICDOCEAN and I have been posting quite a few things from Issue #104-- check out her beautiful cheesecake and the steamed artichokes with parmesan. Even if you don't plan to cook enough to win (100 submissions before Feb 2011), we would love your company-- it is fun to see what other people have been doing with the same recipes.

P.S. Check out the reader submission on page 17-- that is me and my daughter Clara.
Brownies (post #69901, reply #2 of 6)
I was going to make the brownies - but the first line calls for 12oz (3/4cup) of butter, which is not consistent - it's either 12 oz or 3/4 cups. Is there any way to ask the editors which is it?
Thanks,
Noa
Brownie correction (post #69901, reply #3 of 6)
Hi Noa,
You're right there is an error in that brownie recipe. The correct amount of butter is 12 oz., not 3/4 cup. You can get the corrected recipe online here: http://www.finecooking.com/recipes/ultimate-fudgy-brownies.aspx
Our apologies for the error, and thanks for pointing it out.
best,

Another error... (post #69901, reply #4 of 6)
Hi Sarah,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there is also an error in the Homemade Graham Crackers recipe, specifically the 16x3 inch rectangle:
" Yields forty-five 2x2-inch crackers....Roll the dough into a 1/8-inch-thick, 16x3-inch rectangle."
You will need about an 18x10 inch rectangle to get 45 crackers that are 2 inches square. I rolled half the dough into a rectangle of about 10x10. I'll post the photos in the gallery later...
The typo is in both the print and web editions.

Hi Pie, Thanks, you're (post #69901, reply #5 of 6)
Hi Pie,
Thanks, you're correct, it should be a 16x13 inch rectangle. The online recipe is updated to reflect this.
best,
Sarah
PS: Love your pic in this issue!
Thanks! (post #69901, reply #6 of 6)
Hi Sarah,
Thanks! I just happened to be nibbling on one of those graham crackers as I read your message! Thanks for the update.
