What have you made from this issue so far??  I want to do the mocha pudding cakes tonight.

Edited to say, I just reread the entire thread, and the post where you list what you've made from the original pubs.  Made anything else since you received the issue?

I did the mint chocolate squares that I missed the first go round, and the double chunky brownies, that I did make the first time around.

Edit- I was going to say I've actually made a lot from the issues, but the mint squares were a first time.

Mine hasn't come in yet!  I called customer service twice; the first time she said that it was mailed and would be in by the 16th.  Today another lady said it would be in by the 23rd!  Would I be hasty in asking for a refund?  The blurb on Taunton's website said that my account would be billed when the issue shipped and my account was billed on Sept 19th!

I'm never ordering a supplement online again.  I'll just buy it on the newsstand. >:-(

Especially if you live anywhere near Costco, where you can get it for 30% off.

Does anybody know if Costco ever sold the Fine Cooking Annuals?

Dunno. Our Costco just recently started selling magazines.

I picked up a copy at the grocery store today.  I looked through it briefly and saw a number of things I wanted to try when I first saw them in FC and never did.  Looks like a good issue.

I picked one up recently and my husband and children keep bringing it to me with their requests.

Magazines are a fairly new thing at my Costco too.  However, I think that Canada or the East Coast has had it for a bit longer.  I would definitely buy a backup Fine Cooking Annual from Costco if they were 30% off.   If not, I would just make do with my individual magazines--and pray that I don't ruin or misplace them.

Actually, if they had it at Costco, I would buy many, many copies for  my friends and family.  I hope somebody from Taunton Press is reading this.

I got my replacement copy for the one with the torn spine last week--I was impressed with the customer service, although disappointed that my card was billed 3 weeks before I got the original one.

Hopefully yours will arrive soon!

That happened to me on the previous preorder supplement.  Billed @4 weeks before I received it, called and one person was not very helpful at all- rather rude, called again and they were so very nice.  I'm debating whether I will preorder again.

I'm sure Sarah or Li is letting customer service know about our unfortunate mailing problems.

Tomorrow I'm going to ask for a refund.  This retail experience has been wholly unsatisfactory!

Thanks Li.  It's just that the problems, esp. with billing so early receiving so late, have happened to numerous people.

Not only being billed so early but some of us still having not received it and resorting to picking it up in a store.  Edited to add I did receive my new issue with the prime rib on Saturday so its even stranger.

I received the latest FC issue on Friday...and still no Chocolate Issue.  It does seem very strange.

Are most of the recipes from recent issues?  I have all of the issues from #36 so I don't buy the special mags unless they have older recipes in them that I might be missing.

Rec'd the mag today.

Robin- I went through it at lunchtime & don't have it in front of me, but do know that a couple of the recipes were from real early issues.

I'm so excited about this magazine that I came on tonight to tell you what the older recipes are:

Rich Chocolate Muffins #29; Chocolate Pine Nut Cookies #32; Chewy Brownies #34; Fudgy Brownies #34; Chocolate Drizzled Florentines #42; Dark Chocolate Cake #43; Chocolate Cupcakes w/Dark Chocolate #21; Chocolate Layer cake with Mocha Milk Chocolate Frosting #25; Tiramisu, #32, Old Fashioned Hot Fudge Sauce #17.

I wasn't kidding when I said I've made a lot of these recipes throughout the years.  Now that I have more confidence in cakes, I'm going to try some of the earlier ones.  The first part of the mag is 'Chocolate for Breakfast' (are you seeing why I like this?) By this weekend I will decide on either Chocolate Chip Muffins or Rich Chocolate Muffins.

My (and my Mom's) favorite Chocolate Cherry Coconut macaroons are included, I do these for Christmas and when Mom comes to visit.

Didn't make the Chocolate Mint Squares the first time around, but my first ever cake, Chocolate Mousse Layer Cake is included.

I am over the moon!

You enabler, you!  I'll be good and wait until it's in stores, then I'll be able to tell my DH that it attached itself to me, so I had to buy it!  Then I'll show him the pictures and he'll forgive me!  We're serious chocolate fiends in this house!

I'll be picking up my copy from Costco or the book store. I don't mind waiting a little longer.
