Copy paste links and verification process

ICDOCEAN1's picture

Gosh the verification process is a little bit of a nuisance especially when one needs to edit a post, do we really need it here?

I have had a terrible time copying and pasting links etc.  there is some kind of message or two that will not allow the process, like a spam filter or something.

verification (post #71256, reply #1 of 8)

I agree.  There are two problems.  First, the verification process-- having it come up as an error after you hit post, requiring a separate scrolldown and page load is very annoying.  Could it be placed on the same page as the initial post?

Second, the spam filter.  It seems that most people can't even paste links.  I posted a link to a recipe, then went back to edit one word-- I wanted "texture" instead of "temperature".  The spam filter accepted the first message, then rejected the edit.  Could the tech team please have a look at the spam filter?

It seems like we are finally getting a little chat going over here, but the spam filter is making it more difficult.

me too! (post #71256, reply #2 of 8)

I was having a problem too and I thought it was just me.

FC folks could we do something about this?  I agree with ICD's suggestion to have the verification in the same window as the original post?

Hey, I didn't have to verify my chocolate post.  Testing...

Edit: Didn't have to verify that either!

Had to verify the link-- maybe the contents or I have posted too many times!

YYY....and to prove my point here I am having "to complete this form, please complete verification below."

Ridiculous word verification...or you can verify using audio.

This totally frustrating...why didn't have to verify your chocolate post ?  This is what I get:

sometimes... (post #71256, reply #7 of 8)

I have to verify sometimes-- especially if I post a link.  Hmm.  I don't mind the verification so much-- it's when a bona fide post gets bounced by the spam filter that it's annoying.

shortcake is not spam (post #71256, reply #8 of 8)

Okay, what the heck?  Here is what I was trying to post, along with a photo of my shortcake and it got bounced by the spam filter.  AArgh!

Hey gals!

liamsaunt, I was totally Fine-Cooked-out too.  Plus the previous issue didn't really tickle my fancy-- for example, I really don't like asparagus.  This new issue is a different matter, I am very excited about it.  Plus, I am starting to get bored with my cooking rut again.  I'm trying to do more new recipes again-- I rather miss that.

ICD, that tea-crusted fried chicken looks great, thanks for trying it out and the tip on the salty pickles.

I made the strawberry shortcake and it's really good.  Strawberries and cream, how can you go wrong, of course.  The biscuits were exceptional-- really tender.  I tried to make Peter Reinhardt's best-ever biscuits and they exuded butter puddles and just were not that good.  The FC biscuits from this recipe are not flaky, but they are tender and so tasty.  I'm really happy with those-- now I can't wait for local strawberries.

Anyone going to try the updated "tall" cake?  Looks like a beast!

Tonight we are trying, on my daughter's insistence, the chickpea burgers from the meatless grilling article.

I look forward to more reports from you-all!
