The Weekend Baker (post #62638)

I know we've discussed this book before, but I'm really enjoying it.

Just made the double decker brownie chocolate chip bars last night. The 10 minute mocha pots du creme are fabulously simple, and I have made at least 4 batches of the emergency blender cupcakes. Since my blender is old and tired, I find it's easier to just make them in a bowl - almost as fast. Especially with my assistant's help.

DH says they are the best cupcakes, and Buddy agrees.

Glad it wasn't just me.

I ended up doing the Soft-Almond Oatmeal Cookies, because I still can't find the blondie recipe.  These are really, really good.  Get more and more chocolatey as you chew.  The almonds give a nice texture and the extract gives a little after taste, not strong.  I think these will be nice on the platter.

I made the One Pan Chocolate Chip cookies today--quick, easy and yummy. You can have everything cleaned up before the first batch is out of the oven.

When I'm checking what's new here I just keep hitting next discussion.  When I happen onto one of these resurrected llooonnnggg threads I usually grumble with something like...just start a new thread..grrrr....But seeing miss ipke and bro, uvula stickies and all was  just what I needed.  Make those dear children something nice today for me, okay?  Their cheesehead cyber granny thinks they're swell.

Made those again last night, baked in a round cake pan with extra pecans on top and served as a "torte" with vanilla whipped cream on the side  Big hit, and no one knew how easy it was.

I made the Super Moist Banana Nut Muffins this weekend (well, I made it as a loaf and left out the nuts... and used dark brown sugar in place of the light) and it was quite delicious... definitely better the second day, in the future I will definitely make it the day before if I plan to enjoy it for the next morning's breakfast.

LOL. I thought that as I was typing!! But-- at least the recipe does list instructions for making as a loaf, and the nuts are noted as optional! :-)

I'm the guilty one who brought this thread back. What's the "correct" thing to do? I thought it was better not to have multiple discussions on the same topic but I can see that the long discussions can get unwieldy.
I click on discussions with unread messages so I don't have the problem you do when you go to "next discussion."

This is just fine!  I try to go back to the discussion I got an idea from or whatever, when I want to make a comment.   Sometimes too much time has gone by to find it.

I have an unspoken agreement among my friends...I don't look at or judge their housekeeping/domain and I hope for reciprocity....one can always hope, can't one?

So, I didn't even notice...maybe I'll go back and sneak a peak.

Nattie and Buddy, great pictures.  Love the smiles and the "hamming up".  She's  a little beauty and I can't believe how much buddy as grown.  Whenever I see pictures of them my face breaks into the biggest smile.
