The Village Baker (post #62727)

Does anyone have a copy that they want to sell or trade?  It's out of print and the publisher has no plans to reprint.  The few used copies that are available through the Internet are outrageously expensive.

Even though the book is in the catalogue, the publisher has no plans to reprint and no copies in stock.

Wow... I looked that book up on www.addall.com and there are several places where the book is available, but I saw prices in the $75 and upwards range. I remember looking for that book 2 years ago and I could find some on half.com for under $20.

I know - I'm kicking myself for not buying a used copy a couple of years ago - I kept believing Chapters when they said that the book would be in any week now :(

Try asking the author! At least on their website, it is still available.

PS Gayle's Bakery is a must-visit if you are near Santa Cruz/ Monterey. At any given time, there are about 200 people inside eating a meal/ drinking coffee/ buying pastries. Quite the scene.

Thanks, Marie-Louise - I never thought to look there...duh!  I'll call them today to see if they still stock it.

Deej, I just called the bakery. They have the Village Baker. She told me The Village Bakers Wife was out of print, NOT the Village Baker. Maybe she doesn't know what she is talking about. Anyway they have them at the Bakery. I don't know if they would ship one to you or not. Maybe someone here lives near there and could pick one up and mail it to you...anyone out there? Pamilyn

Thanks, Pamilyn.  My sister lives in SoCal, so I'm going to have it sent to her, and she can mail it on to me.
