A Spoonful of Ginger
Hello! My name is Sally and I am a cookbook addict! I also have no will power and very little shame
bought this book, seems wonderful, anyone else has it? What are your favorites? I am curious about her chicken broth which is "steamed" (for lack of a better way to explain it)

It's a good book and I have it, but I haven't seen it in a while. I don't know how this sort of thing happens, but it happens too often. :(

I bought it on a remainder-buying binge a few years ago, read through it, thought about making stuff, then life got in the way. (this is kind of a boy meets girl, boy loses girl kind of story). I'd love to know what I should make out of it - I remember the steamed stock, maybe that's where I should begin?

That came out quite a few years ago and was a big success, IIRC. I know I bought it, but I have a vague recollection of giving it to a friend who expressed an interest in it. I'll have to look.
The Newberry Library here in Chicago is having its annual book fair this weekend with thousands of titles available for sale. Last year I bought an armload of old cookbooks which I enjoyed looking through, but ended up never using. They've been relegated to the storeroom. I'm doing my best to stay away this year, but there's one more day left ...

"I also have no will power"
This from a woman who only drinks coffee twice per week to limit her caffeine intake (and her husband makes great cappuccino), gets up extra early to exercise, and drinks at most one glass of wine per meal even tought she loves good wine.

DH tells me I should get my cook book addiction under control and then buys me a few more that I had expressed interest in. That would be picking up one in the bookstore. I have to be really careful about what I pick up to peruse! ;)

So are you saying you've actually gotten a few you wouldn't have bought? LOL!! I keep a wish list on amazon for those times that people want to know which ones I want!

And I forgot to mention the biggest show of will power of all - only visits CT on the weekends!

THAT is a hard one, I admit.
But you have no idea how much I anticipate my Saturday mornings: capuccino & CT is my favorite way to start the day....
