I have The Foods of Israel Today and I have used it only infrequently, but I do like it. I bought it shortly after I attended a reception where she talked about the culinary heritage of Israel.

Water is a great ingredient to cook with, it has such a neutral flavor

Not a fan. Too simple. Reminds me of the frugal gourmet, in the superficial simplification of complex issues, in JN's case Jewish cultural heritage.
