Jessica's Biscuit has had free shipping for items over $25 for some time now. Guess they needed to keep up with Amazon. Interesting that they took out an ad in the Times. Word of their new shipping policy must not have gotten out.

I had an early Christmas with Jessica's Biscuit.  I spent $50.00 on books so they gave me free shipping, then threw in an additional book..granted not one that I'd have bought otherwise, but thats not all bad, and a subscription to Bon Appetit.

I seem to have early or late Christmases all year round. (:

What books did you order...anything special?

i ordered books that I've read about here and wanted for a longgggggg time.  I like to prolong the suffering caused by professional enablers.  They're all older books..Rose's Christmas Cookies, China Moon, and The Modern Art of Chinese Cooking.  Now, I have to go buy a turkey fryer so that when I get that far things will work like they should.  My next book, and this is probably the season for it will be Paula Wolferts Cooking in Southern France ala Glenys recommendation in the last week.

Karen, you'll love the Barbara Tropp books; they're good cooking and reading books. She was one of the best.

I believe the Wolfert book you mean is The Cooking of Southwest France. I have the original but according to Glenys (and who would doubt her?), it's been updated extensively. It's now on my list, sad to say.
