Bittman Quick and Easy

SallyBR1's picture

Somehow this cookbook was delivered by mail with my name on it. I must have ordered it.

Very good. Made the cucumber salad, which calls for salting the cucumbers before serving. Made a huge difference those were some tasty cucumbers - with mint chiffonade. Perfect.

I like the general approach of all recipes - no fuss, plenty of variations.

I have that cookbook and I too enjoy it. Its simple, quick, gives me ideas when I draw a blank for dinner.

This must be a sort of compilation of his columns in the Times--or vice versa.

I think so - but since I was not used to reading that column, it is perfect for me.

Not that I need new recipes, but still....

With all the mint you have, maybe you should be making mint salads with cucumber chiffonade instead of vice versa. <g>

I'd love to see a picture of your mint. Be careful - it might eat your house. LOL
