anyone have these?
Just ordered "Sweet Melissa Baking" and "Love Affair with Southern Cooking" on The Good Cook- they are doing some spring clearance. Anyone have these? I have a huge soft spot for Southern cookbooks, although it's not my background.
Also, Bobby Flay's new one featuring only hamburgers, fries and shakes? I lust for it. Maybe for him a little bit too, but man there are some good looking recipes in there! Who woulda thunk that I'd want to buy a cookbook featuring just those three things? Well done, Bobby.

I could not stand Bobby Flay when he had that fawning girl on his show, but actually he seems like a very nice guy on Throwdown or Iron Chef America. Win or lose, he seems graceful.

And his other show that comes on every now and then is quite good. He has mellowed a lot, I think.

Fawning girl? Are you talking about his wife?
No, definitely not--I can speak for MadMOm, I'm sure. In his first show he had a true bimbo who was awful. His wife is great.

Yeah, her name was Jacgui Maloof or something like that, and she was horrible.

I guess I haven't seen any of those. I agree his wife is very likable. They are cute together.

Of course, she was the DA on Law and Order. Good actress.

thats hilarious, and a new take on an old theme, one of my favorite themed cookbooks is a 1971 Cosmo Cookery, Gourmet Meals from the first drink to the last Kiss.
Its too funny, How to catch a Man, type asides between recipes, how to make a 1bedroom apt seem romantic etc... and the recipes/menus are excellent for a neophyte, they assume the woman in question doesnt have a clue and is on a really tight budget.
love it
