When a new forum topic is posted by a user
it isn't possible to edit what you have written. This seems to be very counter-productive.

Thanks, Gretchen. (post #69021, reply #1 of 9)
Thanks, Gretchen. Frustrating, I know. The settings in Drupal are set so that everyone should be able to edit his or her own post, but I know it isn't working that way (some can, others can't). I will have someone look into this on the tech side.
Thanks.

I was looking at one of the (post #69021, reply #2 of 9)
I was looking at one of the topics I posted, to see if I could edit it. I expected to see a clickable "edit" link at the bottom. Instead, there are tabs above the message: one reads "view" and the other reads "edit". When I click on the edit tab, I can edit my post. This might be like the resizeable box where you have to pull on the little lines at the bottom-- the functionality is there, but is hard to find. Do the tabs appear and work for you?

Edited to add that it's counterintuitive to have one way to edit comments and a different way to edit the first post.
Well, there you have it. (post #69021, reply #3 of 9)
Well, there you have it. Thank you. I saw no reason to look above my post. Thank you.
Robyn, you are relieved of one "bug".
Well, I'm glad to cross one (post #69021, reply #4 of 9)
Well, I'm glad to cross one off the list. Now, can you do me a favor? Next time you think of it, test your ability to edit one of your replies. Some have reported that as an issue. I know some are not able to edit their profiles (that's different and the techies know exactly why it happens, so they are in the process of solving it). I'm talking specifically about replies here. Thanks.
And a P.S.: Here's a link to something I posted early on explaining how to edit a post. (In your original post, I didn't realize the crux of your problem was finding the edit button. Sorry!). It's a good reminder, though, that before getting too frustrated, check the FAQ; it might just help.

Robyn, I think the only time (post #69021, reply #9 of 9)
Robyn, I think the only time any of us cannot edit a post or reply is after someone replies to it. If there are no replies, then we can edit.
