Williams-Sonoma & Sur La Table both sell their knives at prices comparable to online. I think we paid $195 for our Ken Onion chef's knife at SLT.

However, that's a great price on the Wustof, assuming it is this one: http://www.surlatable.com/product/collections/wusthof+classic/wusthof-trident+classic+chef%27s+knives.do

Looks like it. Does anyone know if Wusthof knives are right handed?

I'm left-handed, they work fine.

As you know, we bought an assortment of new knives in lieu of going on a trip for our anniversary. I'm a big fan of Shun, and I love all the Globals I bought, but for a plain chef's knives, we bought/ kept Wusthof Classics. We have an 8-inch and a 10-inch. I also like Wusthof's slicers the best.
