Sifter Wanted

Kathleen_Chevalier's picture

Does anybody know where to buy a decent sifter? Mostly for confectioners' sugar, but also will be used for flour/salt/leavening mixtures.

Thank you.

Kathleen, I prefer a tamis for any and all sifting:

I find it much easier to use and to clean, especially when sifting large quantities of ingredients. I do not like regular hand crank sifters. Of course, that's just my own opinion. You can probably buy a tamis at any decent cooking store.

Yeah........a fine mesh strainer ........a little toss in the air over a paper plate will sift it through in a hurry.

I do that, too, for small quantities.
