need a timer

We've done the inexpensive timer route and that's not the place to save money. Does anyone have any suggestions on timers, preferable continuous ring/buzzer type? We'd like something loud, 24 hour, portable but that doesn't inhale batteries or even better can be fitted with an adaptor. Thanks.

Now that you mention it, I have never been satisfied with any kitchen timer. The timer on my oven at work rings until you turn it off and is loud enough so that everyone ******es if I don't turn it off right away. I want a kitchen timer like that.

That's what I mean...the oven timer sounds like a fire drill but there's always more than one pot needing to be watched. I've even thought about wearing one around my neck but that would be really goofy.

My oven has two timers (because it has two ovens), so I use them. I also buy those cheapo fruit / dial timers - they work well, ring loud - but not forever, last about a year.

I never use a timer except for the oven.
