Crepe maker - which is better, electric or pan? (post #70066)
Patspa on Tue, 06/08/2010 - 19:50
I would like to invest in a good quality crepe pan, but am not sure if an electric model will provide better results than a traditional pan that goes on the stovetop? Any advice would be appreciated.

I didn't know there were electric ones! LOL. I have a regular crepe pan and they turn out great.
But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!

Adele, I am completely ignorant of crepe pans-- is yours steel? Did you have to season it?

I have this one:

I think I paid even less that what they have it for now. BUT, I don't make them on any kind of regular basis, so putting out the big bucks for a 'good' pan didn't make sense for me. (And no, I don't season it- LOL)

Thanks... (post #70066, reply #4 of 7)
...It looks nice. My husband will be amazed that there is one specialized kitchen gadget that I do not have.

dear heavens. How many crepes (post #70066, reply #6 of 7)
dear heavens. How many crepes can you eat? I have a Nordic ware not stick one--maybe $15. You dip it in the batter and then put it on the stove to cook. Takes about 3 minutes. Perfect crepes.
Electric Crepe maker (post #70066, reply #7 of 7)
I have an electric crepe maker (Multichef brand) bought many years ago. It was not too expensive but it works great. Perfectly shaped crepes in minutes. Josie
