Please join me in toast.......

Adele's picture

to celebrate my FIVE YEARS of sobriety!   (That's real toast, as in bread- what were you thinking?) LOL

Five years ago today, I announced  on CT that I wasn't going to drink anymore, and I haven't!

So thank you all for your support throughout the years.

But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!

Congratulations! My husband quit drinking at about that same time, and he's a better person for it. It wasn't easy though. So, good for you! And for those who love you.

Congratulations on five years of sobriety seem inadequate, Adele. You deserve special fireworks, because this must have taken a massive amount of ongoing dedication and effort.

Good wishes for many more anniversaries. You have my admiration for your wonderful achievment.

With smoked salmon, cream cheese and chives! Five years -- wow. Congratulations don't begin to say it. I think you should celebrate by booking a plane ticket for Vancouver where we can take you for a celebratory dinner at Vij's.

We were planning to have our leftover fajita innards with rice tonight. I've just told TBL (the big lug), that it's fajita innards on toast instead. He thinks it's a great plan.

We'll be lifting fajita-loaded-toast to you in about 10 minutes.

You know, this is one of the reasons I love this group.  I have this wonderful mental image of all of us, around the world, lifting our toast to Adele!  We certainly have our differences and our tiffs, but when it comes down to it, we're family.  :-)

Adele, that's fantastic!  Seriously - you should feel so good about your iron will power.  There are so, SO many people who can't do what you've done!  Great job!  I salute you, with this bubbling glass of Coca-Cola, on the rocks! (G)

Congratulations!!!! Keep hanging in there. I'll be 25 years sober on the 22nd of July. Considering that I've started to put on weight again I'll have to celebrate with a salad this year instead of cake. lol
