Need Some Positive Thoughts

AnnL's picture

for my horse.  The vet is coming tomorrow to take a biopsy from a lump on his haunch.  The lump has been there for well over a year.  The vet was never concerned about it since it wasn't growing.  But, about a week ago, I noticed that it looked different.  It's definately growing, it seems I can see a difference in size almost every day.  The hair has rubbed off and he has an open sore on it.  :-(

I'm a nervous wreck about this.  He's my buddy, my partner, the horse of my dreams and has to be OK.

Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone.  I'm trying not to panic about this, after all, it very well could be a benign cyst.  Right?

The vet came and took some sample for a biopsy.   Her gut feel is that it's a sarcoid.  She said that a sarcoid is in the same "family" as a wart.  The woman I bought him from had told me that he tends to get warts and has had some removed in the past.  So, I'm feeling much more positive about this and won't be too worried while waiting for the results of the biopsy.  If it is a sarcoid, then she should just be able to inject with a steriod, which will be much better than trying to surgically remove the mass.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and good wishes everyone!  They do help!
