Michael Vick  (post #48449)

They just finished the jury selection phase of the Michael Vick case.

Hee!  That must be why he decided to take a plea bargain.  :-)

LOL

If they had a jury of his peers, they would be wearing his jersey and reciting bible pasaages after finding Jesus...

How 'bout they take Vic and tie a whole bunch of raw steak to him, weight him with concrete blocks and then open the door and let 12 dogs who have not eaten in 7 days  into that room to keep him company????

If Jesus is so easy for people like him to find, then what took him so long???????????

Scum.

"scum"

couldn't agree more - I was almost okay with his apology (the only other thing that was really lacking was an acknowledgement that dogfighting was cruel and wrong), and then he said the bit about finding Jesus.

Jesus! (pun intended) - anyone who gets into trouble nowadays says that, and then goes into rehab. man oh man - I don't believe any of them. Too handy by half.

Our sports reporter came down on that hard.  He said he asked one of our judges about defendants who come before him and say that. He says he said "I didn't know He was lost".

If you read the verbatim transcript of his speech from his heart, it is "yanno" this and Yannno that.

Let's face it.  If you get into trouble these days, you either "find the Lord" or blame it on some sort of addiction for which you will go to rehab, or, if you're a Senator, say you were just trying to pick up a piece of toilet paper which fell on the floor and just happened to brush against the officer's leg.  A pox on all of them.  It's amazing to me that no one ever accepts responsibility for an addiction and heads for rehab before they are caught, no one looks for the Lord until they're in trouble, and most feel a good lie will beat the truth any day.

Ahem...I think he definitely had an "itch" and was trying to get it scratched! ;-)

That "itch" was what got him into so much trouble. LOL
