The best way to do this is your not familiar with the area is go to Yahoo, then Maps, type in the city or the landmark ( I used Ikea) and then look for nearby businesses. Can get map and driving directions. Great tool worth knowing about.

Starting from: Ikea 1800 Mcconnor Pkwy, Schaumburg, IL 60173-4323
Arriving at: Trader Joe's 17 W Rand Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 (847) 506-0752
Distance: 7.3 miles Approximate Travel Time: 13 mins
Your Directions
1. Starting at on MCCONNOR PKY - go 0.5 mi
2. Turn Right on MEACHAM RD - go 1.8 mi
3. MEACHAM RD becomes PLUM GROVE RD - go 0.4 mi
4. Turn Right on W EUCLID AVE - go 0.7 mi
5. Take ramp onto IL-53 NORTH - go 2.2 mi
6. Take the EAST PALATINE RD exit onto W PALATINE RD - go 1.2 mi
7. Continue on E PALATINE RD - go 0.1 mi
8. Turn Left on N ARLINGTON HEIGHTS RD - go 0.2 mi
9. Turn Left on RAND RD[US-12] - go 0.1 mi
10. Arrive at Trader Joe's

Yahoo gives you a sorted list in order of the closest first. Makes life very easy. Note also that it gives you mileage and travel time. Gotta love it.

Gary got the right one, with the right directions. We went on our last trip back from Chicago. It's a little confusing, because on the maps it LOOKS like it's far away. But, it's really just a hop skip and jump from the Ikea exit. It's in a strip mall, if that helps.

Pamilyn, have you heard any word on when we are getting TJ's up here? I had originally heard this summer, but their website doesn't mention a thing about it.

There was an article in the paper this week. They haven't committed to a timeline yet, but they have announced that they will be here for sure. Yay! The Monroe Commons project is supposed to be completed in September - so I'd say fall/winter for the TJ's to move in.

Woo Hoo! I'll be looking forward to that. In the meantime, there's one supposed to be opening soon near Minneapolis, so I'll have to take full advantage of our roadtrips. :-)
