back from surgery

evelyn's picture

this has definitely been a most trying year. But I'm back...didn't even notice I was gone, did you? Incredible pain last Friday, put that aside as my father-in-law was suffering even more incredible pain with his bone cancer. By the time I got round to checking out my pain, late Friday night, it was to be told I needed to be operated on immediately. Hernia. Stomach. Had the operation early Saturday morning. Came out of hospital (briefly) Monday, only to be re-admitted Tuesday for fever, high white blood cell count. Infection. Dealing with that. I'm home again. Yay! Now, back to bed.

Evelyn, I'm sorry. I know how hard it is to stay still and look after yourself (or let others do that) but please try.

We promise to keep track of all the juicy stuff for you. :)

Please take care of yourself and rest. Infections can be very scary--call your doctor a.s.a.p. if you don't get better soon. Hope you recover quickly!

I did too miss you.  I was going to send an e-mail this weekend to check up on you if you hadn't popped up here.

You poor thing.  You and your family have been dealing with an awful lot this year.  I do hope you're feeling better.  I'll be thinking of you.  Stay well.

I wish I could just pop over there and take care of the cooking, cleaning, feeding, and getting everybody out the door in the morning stuff for you. Infections are nasty things - I've had some scary first-hand experiences with them - so do follow doctor's orders, stay in bed, rest, drink lots of fluids, whatever -- but do get better. We'd really, really miss you here, and LondonFest II just wouldn't be the same without you.

Good heavens! Is that your body's way of telling you to get off that twisted knee of yours and get plenty of rest?!

Get well soon - and stay in bed and rest for as long as it takes, seriously!
