Having a blast with it... (post #70556, reply #2 of 11)

I went to Zinio and downloaded a couple of magazines to read on the plane and noticed that Fine Cooking is not listed, but my subscriptions to Saveur and La Cucina Italia have long since expired so I bought those subscriptions.  My carry on bag just got a lot lighter!

Info on FC's New iPad App (post #70556, reply #3 of 11)

Laurie just posted information on FC's new holiday app. Check out her post and download the app from iTunes. I hope you like it!

That is one of the first things I did (post #70556, reply #4 of 11)

I remembered the discussion so I checked around and found the app.  I have a long travel day tomorrow and I will surely enjoy reading from the Fine Cooking Holidays.  I also was able to download issues from Saveur and La Cucina Italia so hopefully there will be that option from Fine Cooking.  The iPad has certainly lightened my carry on bag, no more magazines, movies, books, and I don't have to carry the laptop either.

Forgot to ask earlier if the Holidays issue is included in Cook the Issue?

FC Holidays App Recipes/Cook the Issue 2010 (post #70556, reply #5 of 11)

Thanks, ICD,

If you're cooking a recipe you found in the app and taking the time to upload your photos, YES, we're going to count it toward your Cook the Issue tally. Why not? That goes for everybody.

Keep going! It won't be too long before I'm mailing out some DVDs.

Have fun. . .and do feedback on the app once you really get into it.

Great App (post #70556, reply #6 of 11)

I really am enjoying the Fine Cooking app and I have started, in a small way, to gather a few recipes that I will be using over the holidays.

Thanks to Fine Cooking and I look forward to more for the iPad.

Thanks! (post #70556, reply #7 of 11)

I'm so glad you're enjoying the app and that you've found it usefull. I'll share your comment with the gang here.

Also, I encourage you to "share the love" and rate it on iTunes so others will know it's worth the $1.99 and earned it's stars. It's a little thing, but I always read reviews before I buy an app, even if it's just a game for my kids.

And, I'll look forward to seeing your holiday spread in the gallery over the next few weeks (I see you've already started with the skewers—which look awesome, by the way). You and the Cook the Issue 2010 gang continue to amaze us!

Have a great Thanksgiving,

Fine Cooking App (post #70556, reply #8 of 11)

Fabulous to share and I am exploring the recipes.  So far, I am pleased with the app and well worth $1.99!  I will head off and rate the app...thanks for the compliments to all of us participating in Cook the Issue.

As my SIL always says, so much food, so little time.

Enjoy and we hope you all have a great time over the holidays!

I was unable to download the app from the ad on FC page, but I googled and found another link that worked:

Thanks for the heads up! I'll get our Marketing folks on it.

There's another iPad app coming up soon: Fresh & Simple. Look for it in February. You're going to love it.
