And on the positive side. . .

Aberwacky's picture

I'm a grandma again (well, a step-grandma)!  My step-daughter had a little girl last night, 8 lbs, 13 oz (we grow 'em big), and Mama and daughter are doing well.

She's the first girl in the family--4 boys ahead of her in this generation.  I say generation because it gets confusing in my family, what with uncles being younger than nephews and all.  2 grandsons, my two boys and now a girl!  She's going to be spoiled to pieces, since now we can buy all that darling little girl stuff we've been looking at but leaving on the rack, LOL.

My youngest DD has two boys, as you do, and she said she would definitely try again if she knew it would be a little girl.  I think she is wanting to buy some of those frilly things.  Of course, she said it would just be another boy, so she's content with what she has.  Congratulations.

That's funny. My daughter has 2 girls and 1 boy, says she would love to have another if she knew it would be a boy.

Congratulations! I, too, am awaiting a granddaughter...any day now. There is a betting pool on the day of delivery...if she doesn't deliver soon I have to change my return ticket. She's just too perky to deliver anytime soon!

We seem to have girls in our family. One other daughter has a new son, the first in a very long time.

You're going to have fun dressing this grandchild! I was astounded at the amount darling clothes, both girls and boys, on the market now. Again, congrats!

Congratulations! What fun to have a little girl in the family. Although I really don't think it is fair for you to be having grandchildren before me. ;-(

It helps to marry an older man with grown daughters, LOL.  I was a grandma at 35!

Although, the little kids get a little confused when we try to explain the familial relationships.  When your uncle is 3 years younger (or 6 weeks older) it is a little difficult to understand, LOL.

It's a bit of a hoot, being a grandma and a mother of young children at the same time.  I can spoil and be the spoilsport both!

Oh, I bet!!! ;-)

I'm really missing my granddaughter (oh, and the rest of the family too, LOL). They moved out west at the end of June, two weeks before DGD's first birthday. And now they tell me that there will be another grand next spring! I guess I'll be doing some traveling.
