Hello, The saga of my pickle project continues. I used a fine cooking recipe for "No Scum Crock Pickles" , The cukes were placed in layers with dill and grape leaves, a hot brine was added and the pickles weighted with a plate for 10 days in cool, dark area. On the 10th day and with great anticipation and NO SCUM...I tasted a pickle. It was completely hollow as were pickles from each layer soI tossed the entire 4 gallon crock of pickles..Any ideas what could have gone so terrribly wrong? I would like to try again with better results. Thanks
