Hot Chocolate Layer Cake with Marshmallows, FC #102 (post #69031)

This recipe will be a part of Jazzycooks' Christmas in January dinner next weekend. Fortunately, I'm not making it. Has anyone tried this recipe?
Our menu will be from this issue, Roasted Goose with Brandied Prune Stuffing and Red Wine Gravy, Mashed Parsnips with Lemon and Herbs, and the Hot Chocolate Layer Cake with Marshmallows. I'm making the Chestnut Soup with Crisp Prosciutto, and fortunately, it's in the freezer. I won't be roasting anymore chestnuts for awhile. What a job!

Got mine last week maybe on Friday. In London.
Made the cover cake Wednesday for sons 17th birthday, but we didn't serve it until last night. It was a major success, especially with the boys! They all saw it on Tuesday, and dinner was late so I asked them if they could come back last night and they said yes. No way were they missing out on that! It was a very good cake and I would make it again. Very rich but yummy. He took three pieces to school today.

Thanks for your endorsement. This helps a lot. I'll pass it along to my friend who will be making it for our dinner.

Me, me, me! I made the cake (post #69031, reply #4 of 6)
Me, me, me! I made the cake and had fun with the marshmallows. Cut small slices, it is a lot of chocolate.
But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!
It's good to see that there (post #69031, reply #5 of 6)
It's good to see that there are some positive reviews of this cake. And, yes, Gretchen, it is featured on the cover. I should have pointed that out.
I'll report our results in a couple of weeks.
Will I get used to this new format? I still hate it.
