I have been able to get out of jury duty (don't ask)
I do not have to work on Sunday.

Therefore I will be coming to Vancouver on Sunday and leaving after the lunch on Monday.

Sandra: If you could include me in the Sylvia reservations, I would appreciate it.

Aussie, I am still not sure when you are arriving in Seattle. First you said Saturday and staying in Woodinville. Then you said Sunday.

So, when are you coming and do you want a ride on Sunday?

I'm arriving in Seattle on Saturday, staying overnight, going to Vancouver on Sunday via Amtrak arriving there at 2.15. The last part was unclear. Sorry.

Thanks for the offer of a ride.
Yes, that would be great if you are starting off anytime civilized like daytime.
No if dawn hasn't cracked.

Unless we get adjoining rooms, I'm bringing my blow up doll too.

I can leave any time you want. We just need to set a time and a way to hook up. We probably can't check into the hotel before noon so there is no point in leaving too early.

Check in time is 3 pm. As for hooking up somewhere - it looks like it would be someplace in Snohomish county along Interstate 5. My friends could take me there via 405 - they would know of some place - I'll ask.

Then we should leave about noon. I live right near the intersection of I5 and 520 (evergreen floating bridge). It might be just as easy to have them drop you at my house.

Consider it done! Just phoned the Sylvia - your room is booked. Alas, reservation clerk didn't want to discuss possibility of getting all the rooms reasonably close together.

Great thanks. I guess Aussie and I will be driving up together and arriving late afternoon on Sunday. I guess we need to know what name the reservations are under.

Let me know how we can find you guys once we get there - so we can party.

Cam, that's a great idea! I've booked a room for myself for Saturday and Sunday, just to avoid dealing with transit, cabs, etc. Depending on your POV, makes for either a very expensive lunch or a very cheap mini-vacation!

MC, your room is booked under my name. I suggest we all convene in the bar at the Sylvia at a mutually agreeable hour (say 4:00 Sunday?)and plan from there...

If I knew your name I would be all set. You can e-mail me if you want.

4pm sunday is good. Wear a sign.

I am just now catching up on what is going on here.

I hope you all freeze your butts off.

And I hope you warm them by a good fire, with good food and spirits.........

In the mean time....remember...
Parrot feathers may be cheap to mail, but they will not get you a "Get out of jail free" pass.

Have great fun,
Fledge

P.S. MadMom.....you be home by 3 am...or else.

Sandra McKenzie - easy enough to remember. I'll be the short Canadian, probably wearing jeans, sitting in the lounge.

Fledge - I was thinking that maybe Moses would like to go to Vancouver with me! Three a.m.? Eight p.m. is my bedtime!!

Mean - I'll be coming in Saturday evening, so if anyone gets there early on Sunday (before normal check-in time) you could leave bags, etc. in my room. I will, of course, check them for pink capri pants, blow-up dolls, and other lewd items.

Sandra - Can't believe the reservation clerk didn't want to shift everyone in the hotel around for us! Such nerve...can't trust those Canucks. Oh well, we'll just have to terrorize everybody, rather than just trashing one or two floors. Although, at the rate we're going, we may end up occupying most of the hotel! Glad to hear you plan on wearing jeans...I'll be wearing my Texan disguise (rather than my kayaking costume) - that's jeans and whatever I can find to cover the rest of me up. Sounds like Vancouver is almost as neat as Durango - DD loved the idea that her home town was named "Worst dressed town in the United States" - makes us all feel right at home!

MM, the Pacific NW is the home of jeans, sweatshirts and raingear. That is all we ever wear. Sometime shorts if the temperature gets above 55.

Mean - you definitely will not see this fat old lady in shorts! I do have to admit that I felt right at home in my kayak gear on my last visit, though. (Was "sweat******" a Freudian slip, or is that an item of clothing peculiar to the region? LOL)

OK, what time do I need to fly in Sun if I'm to hitch a ride w/you? And, are you still leaving VR ~9p Mon, or, more closely to "after the lunch"? If the latter, I think the free miles thing will work for me OMG! This is nerve wracking.

(This is still tentative, mind you, and due to various this n that personal garbage, I have to take most or all of Th/Fr as vacation days as well. I'll have to see if I'll have any days left; won't know before Monday, which is going to be a hugely busy day w/new employee starting, and new boss visiting, blah blah.)

Glad you escaped the jury. Later man.
