Yup.
I've never been a millionaire, but I just know I'd be darling at it.

Yippee!
I'd love to. So far I don't have anything to do on that date that would conflict.
Great! I would love to meet you.
Where are we meeting?
Butterscotch, I'm sorry--but please remind me again of your general area?
Avak123, will you be in and around Irvine/Tustin?

Yep, I will be at the house in Tustin. I will have a car and am happy to meet anywhere. Really looking forward to lunch!

I'm in Pasadena but willing to drive. I've been assuming that everyone else would be in the O.C. and didn't want to drag people up here--particularly in Friday afternoon traffic.

*Sigh*
No more free Fridays for me for a while . . .
Take lots of pix.

One of these days! I would really love to meet you.

I'd love to. I don't suppose I could talk you into coming a little north, say Long Beach?

Long Beach works for me. Where are we meeting?

Good question. There's a good barbecue place in Seal Beach, or some places on 2nd avenue in Long Beach that I could look into. Anybody got a preference for types of food?

Second Street would be fun. If it's possible to avoid Chinese, I'd be happy. But if everybody wants Chinese, that's okay too.

There's also Delius on Cherry Ave just off of the 405. DW and I at there last night for our anniversary. It turned out that we were the only ones who had made reservations for the Prix Fixe seating for the evening, so we got to sit in their small private dining room. I haven't eaten lunch there and I'm curious to try it out, but it is definitely more expensive than the places on 2nd.

OK, so how 'bout this:
Walt's Wharf on Friday, 10/3 at Noon. Does that work for all and sundry?

I am heading out tomorrow A.M. and will (unfortunately!) be in meetings until we meet on Friday. Kind of doubt I will be checking CT or email after tomorrow A.M.
In case something changes, I will email you my cell.
I look forward to seeing you, Butterscotch, and (I hope!) Jill, at Walt's Wharf on Friday at noon!
Send me your cell number again, please! I've misplaced it.
Safe travels!

Me, too. As Jill says, have a good and safe trip. See you at Walt's Wharf on Friday at noon.

Just want to give a quick report on mini-So Cal fest...
I just got back in town and want to mention how nice it was to see Paretsky again and what a delight it was to meet Butterscotch! We had a great lunch at Walt's Wharf and missed those who couldn't make it!
Just wanted to echo Avak123. I was charmed to meet her and Paretsky and particularly excited because it was the first time I've met anyone from FC. They were both even more fun and more personable than I expected. I look forward to the next meet-up.

I'd be fine with either Long Beach or Seal Beach. But I'm not familiar with the restaurants in either of these places, with the sole exception of Walt's Wharf on Main Street in Seal Beach which DH and I frequent for its lovely fish and grilled artichokes. It has a very nice wine list, too, but absolutely no "atmosphere."
DW and I like Walt's too.
Lately we've taken to just going to Seal Beach and picking a new restaurant that looks promising. That's how we found Beachwood BBQ, which I heartily recommend for your next trip to Main Street.

I'll make a note. Is it one of the BBQ places on Main Street--I've noticed a couple near Walt's--or is it on some other street?
It's on Main Street, a block or two further towards the water from Walt's on the same side of the street.

I love Walt's Wharf (or as my baby boy used to say "Walf's Whart").
Those artichokes . . . mmmmmmm . . .
Is that where we're meeting?
