Oxnard Mini-Fest

Oxnard Mini-Fest (post #56862)

Gillen and I had a wonderful day with KitchenWitch (accompanied by Ipke and Buddy) and Biscuit (accompanied by Max).

We got to Oxnard around mid-day and hung out on the beach, which was ENTIRELY too windy with a nasty rip current and punishing surf, so the kids had to content themselves with playing on the sand and letting the waves chase them.

Later had lunch at a harborside seafood restaurant that acquitted itself nicely in the "fruits of the sea" department.

And here are the photos.

Really great looking kids. It would appear that they are having a good time.

Looks like fun. Is Biscuit enjoying California despite the wind? (Windy beaches can be really miserable.)

everybody looks great and happy, so nice that you got to spend time together

Hard to believe all the kiddos have grown so much.  Buddy was a baby last time I saw him, G just a young boy, Max was barely a toddler, and Nattie...wow, she will always be Natalie!

thanks for starting the thread! I haven't downloaded my pics yet, but will shortly.

we had a fabulous time with the Biscuit clan. Buddy wept piteously this morning when Mr. Biscuit and Max left for the naval base, but kept it together when he hugged Biscuit goodbye.

it was two days with lots of seafood and icecream and fun for the kids, as well as a wonderful visit with Biscuit. Kudos to jillsifer for making the trip up and then back again - must have been 6 hours of driving! Now, that's a good friend.

Okay, I'm officially jealous, and just may have to hop that giant bird and fly south for what remains of our never-ending winter. I want to sit on a windswept beach and cuddle a kid or two.

the wind was rough.
We all received an excellent exfoliation treatment, that others no doubt were paying $$$ for in nearby spas.
of course, we also had sand in our pockets, phones, cameras, hair, ears....

the kids had a blast though, and that's what really counts.
