Of course, I loved Madison, but seems a lot of people are interested in Chicago.  I'm game for either.  Should have my kitchen paid off before we can plan another fest.

I'm game for either too. It seems there are quite a few people around there. Gary is in dDetroit, Jean is not too far, plantlust and mulch are pretty close. Myself and Deanna and Elizaram and sanderson are pretty close. Lee of course. I think I forgot a few people. Maybe they will chime in. Pamilyn edit to add LibbyBoo is close too. I vote for spring....we could go to the botanical gardens and see the tulips!!

Late spring can be good (or wet and cold), but if anyone is interested in going to the farmers markets, there won't be much of interest until mid July.

Yes , it's an old thread, but an ongoing one. The fest is supposed to happen in July.

Since noone has commented recently, I just wondered if I had missed something and it was off. I don't think we can go, but it is a possibility if DS goes to summer school. So do I hope for good grades or bad?

I can't join the 'Festers, but I am planning a September trip to Chicago to attend a master class at the French Pastry School. Very excited!

It ain't cheap, and it's pretty hard core skills-wise. Geared for professionals. I did a lot of soul-searching as to whether I'm skilled enough, and finally had a lengthy conversation with Chef Love, who could not have been more gracious and encouraging. I gave him a run-down of my experience, and he gave me the green light. Wheee! (This is my 40th birthday gift to myself, and hence a splurge. Hubby made me do it.)

May 20th?  That's a Sunday?  Hmmmm, I could drive down Sat. and drive home Monday.  Let me see how the reno is going and if the place is liveable enough for a house sitter to stay here.

So - still the weekend of July 7th, right?

I thought it was moved back to May again because of where the thread started when I got this far.  I'm going to a meeting in Chicago next week.

Well, it can be wet anytime. I think I would rather have a little chilly than the hot and muggy it could be in summer. What do you think? What are your travel plans for the spring? Pamilyn

We're going to Charleston in April, but nothing else is planned so far.  It seem every time I plan a great trip something major happens, like a war, and it's cancelled.  Maybe I should just give up.  Anyway, I would suggest late spring (end of May, early June) or early fall as the best times to be here.

hmmm - may is sounding good - again - whatever works for the bulk of folks interested. :-)

I'd like to meet you as well - a fellow enabler!

May is good for us. How does Garys weekend sound? Gary will you be busy for the whole weekend or would you be able to "Fest" with us? Or would another weekend be better and more open for you? Pamilyn

I may be there the week before (5/6-9/07)for a conference. I would guess there would be an orthopaedic convention of some sort at the same time.
