Where's stuff from previous main board?

Tuck's picture

Okay, where's all the stuff that was posted on the main board?  When I go to the general discussions and scroll down to the bottom of the page it says 50 more but I'm not seeing the discussions/topics from the main board.  Am I looking in the wrong place - if so, where are they?

But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!

Hi Adele, I've done that, my problem comes from getting the to rest of the the discussions or "more" of them.

You know I tried that - do you remember the pierogy discussion, it was on the main board and I haven't been able to find that either.  It's not that I need it, I'm just looking around - while it's still a bit unfamiliar this new forum isn't too bad.  Do miss the threaded messages though.

I think some things are still being imported.

Thanks Li, I thought that might be what was going on.  Aren't we a demanding lot!

tuck (great new name), I assume the main board will join the archives here along with GBNF.

In Mark’s initial post he said “You'll notice that we have fewer folders on Cooks Talk now.  All discussions on ingredients, techniques, recipes, and restaurants should start in the General Discussion folder”.

In scrolling back way to last fall in General Discussion, contents of those folders are there but not main board posts.  I recognize many from Recipes.  Also it shows too few posts each month to include all those from the main board.   RR

And where is the INGREDIENTS board?

All of the discussions from the old Ingredients folder should now be in the General Discussion folder.

We had a problem with the main board discussions so I just trashed them all you don't care do you... NOT. I wouldn't do that to you all.

We are still importing them so be patient and we will be done by the end of the weekend. The main board discussions will be complete as well as the archives which will be all discussions that where at the old boards. Also the aoftm folder will get repopulated also. Other than that all the data should be imported by now if you see something that is missing let me know and I will see what I can do to have it imported as I still have all the exports from the Old Cooks Talk.

Mark - I have to say thank you once again for the super job you guys have done on getting this thing up and running.  I know how much of a pain any conversion is, and to try to convert from one format to another, with a gazillion threads and heaven only knows how many people involved...well, you deserve a big hand!  I know we've griped a lot, but I think we'll get used to this, and I hope that some of our "constructive criticism" will help improve things.  Have you seen your family lately?  Gotten any sleep?

Ditto what MadMom said.

Despite all the griping, don't think for a second we don't appreciate all your efforts tremendously.

We have a big family weekend planned as my son and daughter turn one tomorrow, (Please Jean no cards) So I won't be aroound the boards much this weekend but I will be back on Monday! So if youve got questions head to the sandbox and let me have them.

Till then...

Weird, eh? I am still in awe that--how long was it? just TWO years ago!--we were talking abt Y2K. And tax season is approaching. Good grief.

Ohhh, kai - you had to mention taxes!  I'm heading home today and I have to prepare four tax returns...maybe five...before the end of the month so I can go to Colorado and relax.  I should have been a CPA - then I could have at least gotten paid for doing them!
