It is a great kitchen staples and lasts forever in your cubbord. There really isn't a substitute. Asian grocers have them, but most any grocery store around me carries it in the 'International' or Japanese section.

Hi Marti! Mirin is a Japanese sweet rice wine. It's good in dressings, used in sauces and lasts forever. Some grocery stores carry it by the vinegars for some reason.
But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!
