Smoked mussels tonight

I had some NZ green mussels in the freezer and wanted to use them up. I poked holes in an aluminum foil pan. Put in the mussels. Drizzled with OO and sprinkled with garlic.

Built a smallish charcoal fire. Put some soaked rosemary twigs and some dry twigs on the grill. Put the foil pan on top of them. Then put the coals in the grill, put the grill in place and covered it all up.

It really was very nicely flavored. I didn't take much trouble with the rest of the meal--just some good bread, and there was enough juices in the shells to give something to sop up. But it will bear expanding on in my opinion, and it sure was easy enough.
