No grill (post #69491)

Hi Vmitch,

It depends on what grilled pork recipe you're referring to (chops? pork tenderloin?), but you can often replicate some of the effects of grilling in your oven (minus the charcoal-y, smoky flavor of course) by broiling. Broiling and grilling are actually quite similar, the only difference is the heat is coming from above instead of below.

It's been years since I've used a Forman grill, so I shouldn't knock them, but I did find that they never really got hot enough to give meat a good sear. But one indoor grilling option I really like is to get a good cast-iron grill pan and use it on your stovetop--then you can get it as hot as you like.

Is it the ingredients that make you want to try it?  Not knowing the recipe, you should still be able to use the same ingredients, just sear or bake or broil as suggested.

I have a grill pan that I use on top of the stove.  It's not a smoker pan, just a square pan that has ridges and is cast iron so I can get it really hot.  I use this to grill- get seat marks- shrimp and steak and pork too.

But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!
