Cooking for a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fundraiser

doctorjeff's picture

I am preparing a four course Italian dinner for 8 on Saturday night at a local winery, which was auctioned off last fall at a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraiser. As an ameteur cook, I have to admit I'm pretty nervous, and want to make sure the group that bid on, and won, this item feels it was well worth it. I have made all the recipes before, for small dinner parties in our home, but this will be very different! If all goes well, maybe the dinner will go for more $$ this nex year! Wish me luck!!

I do wish you luck. I have done this with a cassoulet dinner, and a number of times for a full spread BBQ.  I think Italian can be challenging because dishes are often so well known/ubiquitous, that expectations can be high.  and I hope it works out well for you. Mine were pretty much "maxed out" at the top.  It was fun to do.  Be sure to deduct your cost from your income tax as a donation.

That sounds wonderful-- what a great idea! Good luck!!  Do report back-- maybe with photos and a description of the menu.

Cheers, Jen
