Hi, I just made the Low Calorie Strawberry Cake that a friend of Favorably Impressed posted back in Oct., I believe. She said it was from a White House pastry chef. I was reading old posts and thought this sounded very good.  I made it yesterday and it has had time for the juice to penetrate the genoise. It is beautiful to look at along with tasting very good. If anyone's interested, it is 24687.1 or thereabouts. 


It is not made with strawberry jello, but it has fresh strawberries made into a puree and a gelee is made with the strained juice of the strawberries and a packet of unflavored gelatin. 


My mom used to make a rather easy dessert with store bought angelfood cake, strawberry jello and frozen strawberries. My childredn always loved that dessert because the jello and strawberry juice soaked into the angelfood cake and it melted in your mouth.  I also made it, but after the first few years, it always seemed to turn watery.  Today anyway, this homemade delight seems just right. 


Has anyone else made the Low Calorie Strawberry Cake?
