We tried out my spritz cookie gun this year for the first time.I found this recipe last year and finally got around to trying it.

I must say both the recipe and the cookie gun are fun to use. I made the lemon flavored ones--next time I'll add a splash of lemon extract to up the flavor a bit. I'll try the chocolate ones some other time.
DD likes to do the cut outs. We use the NoFail Sugar cookie recipe with almond flavoring--very nice. We roll it out between sheets of parchment using my Dobord. No mess, no added flour, lovely cookies. Fun times.

I love spritz cookies--my mom (post #67851, reply #1 of 6)
I love spritz cookies--my mom and I used to make them every Christmas when I was little. I should ask her if she still has the gun. I don't know why the flavor and texture of them are so different from other cookies, but I loved them.
Those No Fail Sugar cookies (post #67851, reply #2 of 6)
Those No Fail Sugar cookies rolled between sheets of parchment are my standby! They should be T&T.
I need to spritz. I can't believe I never have.

Spritz . . . brings back lots of childhood memories. Your's and SarahJB's recipes look awfully good. I might need a new spritz gun. Would you tell me about your new one.
I think the one I have is a (post #67851, reply #6 of 6)
I think the one I have is a Sunbeam -- there are several other makes. I got this on sale a couple of years ago and used it for the first time this year. It gets mixed reviews at Amazon but it worked fine for me with this recipe. I like the trigger mechanism so much better than the top twist barrel that I used before. It makes a very small cookie -- I like that too.
