I was given a starter for Amish Friendship Bread. I nurtured it for 10 days and last night made it. Mine didn't turn out nearly as yummy as the one my friend gave me to taste. Mine is dense and her was light and airy. I have divided the starter to give away now as per the directions but would like to keep one to myself to try again in 10 days. Has anyone ever made it? does anyone have any suggestions? I can post the recipe. I have pictures but my stupid computer is not registering the USB port for the camera, etc...will put them up once I figure that out.

Google for it. And you don't have to wait 10 days. Look at the recipe you got, and compare it. I haven't made it in 30 years, but there are a LOT of different recipes for it.

The funny thing is that I took the eggs out of the fridge and I put them right next to the bowl where I was mixking the dough. Completely ignored them and only after having the cake in the oven for over 15 min, as i was cleaning up that I noticed them! HA

Finally I made a good batch! Well, the last one was pretty good too. I made it with whole wheat flour this time so I hope it doesn't fall too much. Turned out beautiful and light this time. YAY!! Now I just have to find yet 4 more people to give it to!!! sigh
