Getting caught up

I finally registered on the user list, and got my preferences set, and read through all the back messages so that now I can hit the "Read Subscriptions" button to get my new messages. Hooray! It's nice to see that only two weeks into the new year the rants and moans about the new format have died down to a low murmur. I guess Sean really did know what he was doing - I think I prefer the old version, but this one isn't the dog I originally thought it was. Just thought I'd thank Sean for his patience and perserverence getting my favorite online communtity back among the living. Way to go!

(this was not a paid endorsement)

Sean, if that is a self-portrait, you are looking very smug and self-satisfied. I see that you are also laying down on the job--or is it your day off? BTW. I want to learn how to do that(insert image, I mean--I know how to lay down.)

if you don't remember bloom county, there's no sense to me trying to explain the penguin.

as for allowing others to post pictures, well, baby steps to improving the discussion board. i wanted to try it out myself first, but when we get our burly new server here (with the month), we should be able to allow everyone to post attatched files (i don't know why this software calls 'em 'enclosures'

Whoops, couldn't view the enclosure, and as much of a BC fan as I am, I am bummed. First attempt emptied my Internet Explorer window and left it blank; second attempt (after hitting the "back" button to get the Cooks Talk page again) gave me an error message:

Internet Explorer Script Error
In frame: enclosure
[Line: 23] Object doesn't support this property or method

I want my Opus! Any suggestions? Or is this just a problem with good old Microsquish software?

Never mind - it opened a new window and eventually gave me the Opus I was waiting for. Silly me.
