Absolutely amazing.  The secret service people stick out like a sore thumb, don't they?  And the snipers supposedly are able to hit someone from over a mile.

There is a very wierd abnormality behind Jimmy Carter's head. It's like two photos were spliced as some poor gentleman has two heads.

I think when I was loading it, the bottom said that four photos had to load.  I'm amazed that there weren't more "abnormalities."  They must have been taken almost at the same time.

I sent it to a friend who replied that he looked at someone behind Obama whose necktie needed to be snugged.  ;o)

That is very cool. CNN is using Microsofts new 3D modelling software to do that too. It's called "the Moment" and you can click down in to the entire panorama.

Thanks for the link - what a great picture.  Brrr, I'd hadn't thought about how cold it must have been for him without a hat or gloves

Oh, here you are. I posted this in Kvetch because I couldn't find this. This needs to be put in Kvetch anyway, but....

sent it to my dear niece and got this back from her--she's a photographer and a graphic artist, but also has 4 children, 4 dogs, 2 horses, numerous rabbits--and had time to do this!!  She's a dear!!

If you look very carefully at the photo, it is actually mulitple photos seamed together. Will, Mark and I counted about 7 vertical seams and were too lazy to count horizontal seams, but did find a few. There's a pair of walking legs without an owner near the white tower in the right side of the photo, down near a whitish divider/walkway, and we saw a few people missing parts of their faces!

My H and I spent about 30 minutes going over this photo, zooming in and out (he was interested in the scaffolding, temporary seating, and microphones, and I was looking at hats, yawns, and cameras!). The zooming made me dizzy, so we stopped! Having done lots of panoramas, and looking at the incredible resolution, I figured this was made up of hundreds of photos. I googled around and found the photographer (he says he used over 200 photos!): http://davidbergman.net/Obama.html

CNN did something similar for the inauguration and they were having
fun zooming in and out.
