chef's torch
which brand of torch does everyone use? i will not be using one very often.,and sometimes quality doesn't mean expensive. to be honest i have never used one before. i want to make this valentine Day's cake with this wonderful frosting. also, i would use it for creme brulee. i hope this is not a repeat question. thank you all. lana

The cheapest plumber's torch that HOme Depot sells, which I think is Schnitzel' Bernzomatic. Should cost about $12.95.

I can't even remember where I got mine but know it was under $20.00. I will say that I used it only twice. :)
But, but, it's SUPPOSED to taste like that!

Listen to the folks! The Bernzomatic from your local hardware store or Home Depot works just fine. I've had mine for at least 10 years and think I paid 4.95 for it then, plus about$3.00 for a can of gas. Now I think the gas is around $5. a can.
