It isn't easy.  Or at least, it wasn't for me.  I wrote 3 letters, e-mailed twice before I finally sent a nasty e-mail to them via their website that said, very clearly, that I wanted to quit, that I had tried to quit several times, that they were unresponsive, and that with that e-mail I considered myself to no longer be a customer, and that being the case, if I received one more package from them I would consider it a gift per U.S. Postal Regulations and would not be paying for it.

I didn't hear from them ever again.

In your case - I'd start with e-mailing their customer service department through their website, giving your membership number etc.  Make sure you send yourself a copy of the e-mail, and then follow up in a week to make sure they were processing it.

I join every time they send me one of those ridiculous introductory offers (get 5 books for 5 bucks!) and then quit as soon as I've bought my one required book (which I do immediately; sometimes they even give 50% off if you do it right away). Then I send a snail-mail letter to the Camp Hill headquarters with my membership number. It has always worked. Same for their other book clubs (Smart Reader Rewards etc.)

I never had any trouble quitting because they never let me join.  Pout.

REALLY? Gosh, I get solicitations to rejoin before I've even quit! You'd think they'd catch on that I just take fulfill my introductory commitment and run. With the various promotions in these clubs, I generally end up with 6-7 new hardcovers for about $40-$50. (And I'll admit that when I don't like something I've chosen, I sell it on half.com!)

Oh, I get plenty of solicitations, and even "joined" three times, although each time they "lost" my application.  They ought to see my collection of cookbooks, the fools.

Time for me to quit again. I've forgotten how. I wonder if I can do it on-line.  That's how I joined.

Nah, they just think you're too easy.  No challenge there!

Well I just sent an email to both of the clubs I belong to.  We'll see if it does the trick-- or not.

That's what I've done (2 or 3 times now), and have never had a problem.

Send everything that they send you back to them 'return to sender'. The postage will cost them a fortune and they'll quickly send you a letter stating that they have cut your subscription (assuming that you've filled your requirements). This is what I did to get them to stop - and it was the only thing that worked!

Be the change you want to see.
